Come on, “Present them happiness!”
From the 16th of March 2012 with the financial support of Kyrgyzstan Soros Foundation a new project “Present happiness” started being realized. The project is oriented to children among 12 and 17 years old with hearing impairments in Kara-suu boarding school, that is situated in the countryside of Osh region. In the frame of the project the volunteers of YoO “Tamam” group once a week will visit kids and during 2 hours will organize “Freestyle dance teaching” club and club of “Theater performances”. So the volunteers and children of boarding school will be divided into 2 groups (Everyone can choose the sphere he likes):
- Dancing group
- Acting groupents

We are pleased to let you know that on March 18, 1012, the volunteers of Youth YIG «Youth of Osh Tamam» held the first class for children with hearing impairmants.
Actually we agreed to meet promptly at 11:30, but due to excessive punctuality of one of the volunteers we all had to leave at 12:20 pm … yesss, we were also very angry … but after my long story about punctuality and responsibility of Swedish people (and other), I hope none will even try to repeat it! :)))
We arrived there promptly at 1:25. On the way we were near to get lost, because the boarding school is situated far from the city, in the midst of numerous villages.
When we finally arrived the school, we saw kids who were sweeping the street (on this day they made a cleanig day) After three minutes, our bus was surrounded by pupils of the boarding school who were standing with a smile on their face, and hopefully looking at us. We willingly smiled and greeted them as well.
In the frame of the school № 27, where I had previously studied, taught children with hearing impairments … and I always thought that such children are moody and unfriendly. But we saw the opposite in these children, they have shown themselves as easy going, positive and open minded guys. :)
Soon we were invited to the auditorium, where usually the holidays and competitions are held.
There we got acquainted with the guys, and told them the purpose of our visit, and soon we began our activities.
Children and volunteers, based on their interests, were divided in 2 groups as Dancing and Drama.

As we do not know the verbal communication, It was not easy to build a communication bridge with the children. In order to explain something we had to show different shapes by our hands, gestures. It really impressed us that the children wrote their names in the mobile phone and kept them ready to show them to us…
But by the end of training the volunteers already knew a few gestures and we could hintly understand each other.

Children were that giperactive that at the end of the classes, we organized drama performances with the participation of children and the volunteers themselves.
Here you can see how our volunteers conduct dance lessons.Upon returning home, everyone was tired but satisfied with the work done! I am sure that every one of us really enjoyed working with such amazing guys!
P.S The project was called as “Present Happiness” with a purpose to present it to children in reality!
Tamam is full of ambitious guys :)
On the 15th of March in the faculty of foreign languages of Osh state university was conducted a training for the volunteers of Youth Initiative Group “Youth of Osh –Tamam”. In the frame of the training we widely discussed about our plans for the future as realization our next project “Present a happiness” and partnership collaboration with organization as “Bishkek Business club” (with the financial support of this organization on the 13th of December the “The New Year Party” was conducted for children of 2 local orphanage houses)and “Flex” program alumnaes group
Hope you all remember how we participated in the workshop which was conducted by Karin and Ingeered in the countryside? Well, I liked it so much that I decided to hold it for the volunteers in our group. There guys tried to answer the same questions as we did:
How can we involve more volunteers to our group? How to make volunteers more engaged?
Each group was trying to distinguish from each other, be creative to solve problem and eventually they suggested a variety of interesting ideas.
For example, One of the groups decided that the coordinators of the group should do a short informal interview with each new volunteer in order to make them feel their involvement to the team of friendly, responsible, creative and just positive young people. So in the future, they also will treat each other in their work (Believe me, it actually works)
Volunteers also proposed an idea of the need of openning a separate office of YoO Tamam Group
“It would be a great site of integration of young people, where we could work together and initiate a variety of clubs, such as the English café, for which we have to beg the dean of the faculty of foreign languages for getting an audience each time we conduct it” – said the leader of the “Altyn Uya” group Akjol .
A leader of “Dancing club” Lelik suggested an idea to organize “thematic days”
“Each of us has a lot of interesting ideas, and the estating our own office, we could organize thematic days, based on which we can make a schedule of clubs and activities that are conducted by our group and hang it in the office. Thus we will provide an opportunity for each young person to engage in the activity he is interested in ”
Yes, I think we should realize this idea of owning a secluded place where young people could successfully make the “products” of their creativity!
So now we hope for your support, Tamam Sweden!
